This SKF F4B-RM series ball bearing flange unit has a cast iron housing with four bolt holes, seals, and setscrew lock. It is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. The housing is made of cast iron for rigidity and vibration damping, and is equipped with a grease fitting on the outer surface for reapplying lubricant. The SKF YAT 2 series double-sealed, deep-groove ball bearing insert in the housing accepts radial, thrust, and combined loads and has an extended inner ring on one side for increased shaft support. Its inner and outer rings and balls are made of high-grade carbon-chromium steel for durability and resistance to deformity. This self-aligning bearing has a convex sphered outer surface that compensates for misalignments. Seals on both sides of the bearing retain lubricant applied at manufacture and help protect against contaminants. The bearing locks onto the shaft with two setscrews spaced 120 degrees apart for a three-point hold. This lock type minimizes ring distortion and vibration and is suitable for low to moderate speed applications where the shaft rotates in a single or reversing direction. seals on both sides of the bearing protect against contaminants and retain lubricant applied at manufacture and the bearing housing has a grease fitting for reapplying lubricant.
